She’s the person who drives me to want to know more about Jesus
“The most influential person in my life is my grandma on my step-dad’s side, Yin Yin. She’s really my role model because whoever she meets she touches their life. She could be talking to someone in the elevator and has a way of slipping Jesus into the conversation. She tells everybody about Jesus. She even carries around those little Bibles and hands them out to people she meets. She is very conscientious about sharing Jesus but she does it in a way that’s so natural. She’s the person who drives me to want to know more about Jesus and read the Bible more so that I can be like her, and give people joy, and she’s one of the reasons I decided to get baptized. Everybody feels at home with her, and she has a very inviting aura that brings you in and makes you feel loved. But two years ago she got diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and was told she had only six months to live. Everyone was so sad and prayed for her, but today she’s still with us. She wakes up every morning and she’s singing “Today’s the day, today’s the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.” She’s so happy, even though she has this crippling illness that could get some people really down. I think her illness has made her more willing to share the Bible because she only has so much time left here, and this is her time to share the Gospel. And she knows that because of Jesus, if she does die then she’s going to a better place.”
