Remembering the bigger picture really helps me
I don't get to see my family very often. My older brother lives in Houston and the rest of my family moved to Singapore- we’ve only been able to get together four times since they moved a few years ago. We always have a good time when we are together though. Each of us is very different and independent, so we get along well and can really engage together when we get the chance. I try to just enjoy the time that I have with them without worrying when the next time will be. Remembering the bigger picture really helps me- that I’ll see them all again before too long.
I worry a lot about being stagnated after college. I used to live in a very small town and I don’t want to have to go back to live there. I know I don’t have to go back, but nevertheless I’m afraid to be stuck. I have a loose bucket list that motivates me and will hopefully keep me growing even after I’m out of school. The closest goal is to run a marathon in the next couple of months, but later on I hope to get the chance to travel. I think traveling alone will be a chance for me become comfortable being myself before I commit to a marriage and family, which is really important- you need to know yourself before you can dedicate yourself to others. Long term, I want to find a fulfilling job environment and have a big loving family. For now, I’m keeping myself busy and maintaining a positive outlook on my life and future.
