I made it a goal to blend in

There are a lot of differences between Russia and America. My favorite memory as a child was my first Christmas in America. I remember it was more magical than being back home. A local church had heard that we just moved to the country and they brought over a huge bag of presents and I remember my mom started crying because she was so thankful for people’s kindness. This day was so great for me that I remember it like it was yesterday.
My goal is to become a neuroscientist but most importantly to shine in God’s glory in my career. I strive for people to understand how hard it was to get to where I am today. I am the first of over seven generations to go to college and move out of my parent’s house before marriage or approval of the church. My whole life I made it a goal to blend in with the crowd and not stand out. So, it is hard for people to know my whole story with just one look at me. I wish that people could see how dedicated I am to achieve my goals. Along the way I hope to become a mom and wife, but in good time.
